Not everyone can be a morning person – springing out of bed in the early hours feeling fresh and ready to run. For those who perk up a little better in the evenings, having had a full day to wake up, this breakfast recipe is your new go-to.
Prep these overnight oats – you guessed it – over night, and you’ll awake to a healthy, sustaining bowl of goodness to get your day started right.
What you’ll need to make two servings:
- A jar or other container (we recycled a pickle jar)
- One ripe banana
- A ¾ cup of oats
- One cup of milk (we use almond milk, but dairy or soy would work a charm)
How to make overnight oats:
It really couldn’t be easier, dufus.
Mash the banana into the bottom of your jar or container. Then, pour in the oats and your choice of milk. Next, stir it up!
Store the oats in your fridge over night, and they’ll be ready to devour by morning. We like to top ours with fruit, a few nuts and sometimes (if our pocket money allows) a dash of nut butter and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
